Pinot par Excellence
Updated: Feb 12, 2018
When Larry Stone bet his career on winemaking at Lingua Franca in Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills, he brought together one of the most impressive and humble teams I've ever met. The estates young winemaker is Thomas Savre (early 30's!), who spent years working at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. His respect for Larry is admirable, but he's also vocal about some of his preferences (whole cluster, for example). The creative and friendly tension shows up in each of these wines. They are going for Oregon grand cru with all of the humility that I've known Larry to personify. These are must have collector bottles.
